Proclamation No. 43/1996

PROCLAMATION TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF ETHIOPIAN ELECTRIC LIGHT AND POWER AUTHORITY

WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend the Charter of Ethiopian Electric Light and Power Authority;

NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:

1. Short Title

This Proclamation may be cited as the “Charter of Ethiopian Electric Light and Power Authority Amendment Proclamation No. 43/1996.”

2. Amendment

Article 6 of the Charter of Ethiopian Electric Light and Power Authority (General Notice No. 213/1956) is hereby deleted and replaced by the following new Article 6:

"6. The Board of the Authority
A Board composed of a Chairman and the necessary number of additional members, to be designated by the Government, shall direct and supervise the operations of the Authority as its superior organ."

3. Effective Date

This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 6th day of July, 1996.
