Revised Fourth Lome Convention Ratification Proclamation

WHEREAS, the Agreement amending the Fourth Lome Convention was signed by Ethiopia and the other Contracting Parties in Mauritius on November 4, 1995; WHEREAS, the Agreement enters into force subject to ratification by the signatory States; WHEREAS, the House of Peoples’ Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified said Agreement at its session held on the 17th day of December, 1996; NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55 sub-Articles (1) and (12) of the Constitution, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:

1. Short Title

This Proclamation may be cited as the “Revised Fourth Lome Convention Ratification Proclamation No 54/1996.”

2. Ratification of the Agreement

The Agreement signed in Mauritius on November 4, 1995 to amend the Fourth Lome Convention is ratified.

3. Power of the Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation

The Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation is hereby empowered to implement the Revised Fourth Lome Convention in cooperation with the concerned governmental and private organs.

4. Effective Date

This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 17th day of December, 1996.
