Ethio-Kuwait Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Agreement Ratification Proclamation

WHEREAS, the Agreement on Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the State of Kuwait was signed at Kuwait on the 14th Day of September, 1996;

WHEREAS, it is stipulated in the Agreement that the Agreement shall come into force on the later date on which either Contracting Party notifies the other that its constitutional requirements thereon are complied with;

WHEREAS, the House of Peoples’ Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified said Agreement at its session held on the 6th day of May, 1997;

NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55 sub-Articles (1) and (12) of the Constitution, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:

1. Short Title

This Proclamation may be cited as the “Ethio-Kuwait Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Agreement Ratification Proclamation No. 72/1997.”

2. Ratification of the Agreement

The Agreement on Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the State of Kuwait, signed at Kuwait on the 14th day of September, 1996 is ratified.

3. Power of Concerned Federal Organs

The Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Justice and other federal organs concerned with the fields of cooperation included in the Agreement are hereby empowered to implement the Agreement with regard to their respective fields of activity.

4. Effective Date

This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 6th day of May, 1997.
