Proclamation No. 73/1997

Ethiopian Radio and Televsion Agency Establishment (Amendment) Proclamation

WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend the Ethiopian Radio and Television Agency Establishment Proclamation;

NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55(1) of the Constitution, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:

1. SHORT TITLE

This Proclamation may be cited as the “Ethiopian Radio and Televsion Agency Establishment (Amendment) Proclamation No. 73/1997.”

2. AMENDMENT

The Ethiopian Radio and Television Agency Establish-ment Proclamation No. 114/1995 is amended as follows:

1/ Sub-Articles (3) and (4) of Article 6 are hereby deleted and replaced by the following new-sub-Article (3):
    "3) the necessary deputy General Managers:'"

2/ Sub-Article (5) of Article 6 is renumbered as sub-Article (4).

3/ The following new sub-Article (7) is added after sub-Article (6) of Article 8;
    "7) issue directives on the salary scale, employment and administration of journalists as well as the production and technical staff of the agency."

4/ Sub-Articles (7), (8) and (9) of Article 8 are renumbered as sub-Articles (8), (9) and (10), respectively.

5/ Sub-Article (3) (b) of Article 10 is hereby deleted and replaced by the following new sub-Article (3) (b):
    "b) employ and administer as well as fix the salaries and allowances of journalists and the production and technical staff in accordance with the directives issued by the Board; employ and administer the other staff of the Agency in accordance with federal civil service laws."

3. EFFECTIVE DATE

This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 13th day of May, 1997.
