Ethio-Norway Development Cooperation Agreement Ratification Proclamation

WHEREAS, the development co-operation agreement between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Government of the Kingdom of Norway was signed in Addis Ababa, on the 30th day of March, 1998; WHEREAS, the agreement shall enter into force on the latter date on which either party notifies the other that its Constitutional requirements have been complied with; WHEREAS, the House of Peoples’ Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified said instrument at its session held on the 10th day of November, 1998. NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55 sub-Articles (1) and (12) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is hereby proclaimed as follows:

1. Short Title

This Proclamation may be cited as the “Ethio-Norway Development Cooperation Agreement Ratification Proclamation NO.130/1998.”

2. Ratification of the Agreement

The Agreement on Development Cooperaton between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Government of the Kingdom of Norway signed in Addis Ababa on the 30th day of March 1998 is hereby ratified.

3. Power of the Minister of Ecnomic Development and Cooperation

The Minister of Economic Development and Cooperation is empowered by this Proclamation to implement the Agreement.

4. Effective Date

This Proclamation shall come into force as of the 10th day of Novermber, 1998.
